My 747 days at Pathao — the biggest consumer tech startup of Bangladesh

The journey started from a “wannabe” mathematician’s dream to be Data Scientist to ending up being the Head of Marketplace of the most exciting, challenging and biggest marketplace platform business of Bangladesh in just 747 days. This wasn’t easy, this wasn’t magic. This was possible because I had the opportunity to work with some brilliant minds and play with the most exciting datasets of the country. This was possible because I had the mentorship of some great minds and support from amazing juniors and colleagues who supported, helped and taught me in each step. Undoubtedly Pathao has the best team in the country and it’s quite impossible for anyone to assemble a team like this. This was probably a miracle! — this is something I always believe.

However, like all journeys come to an end, this time it’s just about my journey at this amazing place. I have always been so thrilled by the ‘entrepreneurial spirit’ and ‘drive to build something amazing’ attitude of Pathao people and that’s what keeps Pathao going and will make Pathao a success.

I would like to thank M Ehsanul Karim (ex — Head of Data Science, Pathao), Pardeep Grewal (COO, Pathao) and Fahim Ahmed (CFO, Pathao) for helping me grow immensely and learn so much in such a short period of time. I would like to thank all the members of the Marketplace Team, we call MX MAFIA internally, for being there and standing with me like a family whenever I needed. I really appreciate your contribution in my life. Thank you so much!

I wish all the best to Pathao for its future success. I would love to see Pathao to achieve whatever it aims for and keep contributing to the economy and social development of the country.
